Our mission statement

The New Zealand Association of Teachers of Singing Inc. (NEWZATS) is an incorporated society with a 32 year history of furthering the professional development of singing teachers across New Zealand.
Our Objectives are:
  • To provide members with high quality professional development opportunities to suit their needs.
  • To support the pedagogical development of all teachers of singing and voice professionals in New Zealand.
  • To promote and develop excellence in the vocal arts across all genres of music.

Our History

Our founder, ​Flora Edwards, with the help of some of our members, explains the mission, purpose and aims of NEWZATS.
