NEWZATS is the established and trusted professional development network for voice teachers in Aotearoa New Zealand, dedicated to supporting, developing and connecting the singing teaching profession throughout the country.

Full ASSOCIATE membership

  • $130 per annum*
  • Available to those who are teaching singing, with three or more years' experience,
    and with relevant qualifications
  • Requires two referees, one preferably a NEWZATS member
  • Requires certified copies of your relevant qualifications
  • Requires a Police Vetting Consent form​
  • By becoming a member you are bound
    ​by our Code of Ethics

Beginner Teacher Full MEMBERSHIP

  • $130 per annum*
  • Available to those who are teaching singing, with less than three years' experience,
    ​and/or no relevant qualifications**
  • Requires two referees, one preferably a NEWZATS member
  • Requires certified copies of your relevant qualifications (if any)
  • Requires a Police Vetting Consent form​
  • By becoming a member you are bound
    ​by our Code of Ethics

  • Direct access to our Mentoring Scheme on joining

​​​Affiliate Membership

  • $60 per annum*
  • Available to those involved in
    activities associated with voice teaching
  • Requires one referee
  • Does not require Police vetting
  • ​By becoming a member you are bound
    by our Code of Ethics

* Joining part-way through the year has a pro-rated (quarterly) fee. You will be invoiced when the application is processed
** Membership level of an applicant with "no relevant qualifications" is on a case-by-case basis in discussion with the membership secretary

  • Sited and verified relevant qualifications (PDF upload).
  • CV - If you don't have a relevant qualification, relevant experience can be taken into account, on a case-by-case basis.
  • A short bio and headshot (if you wish to be included on our "Find-a-Teacher" page).
  • A completed applicable Police Vetting Consent form (Can be emailed separately, but soon please. For this you need verified ID.)
